THE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

The Office is responsible for day-to-day leadership in academic function of the institute and development of key institute’s  strategic aims as well as participation in the formulation/review of academic policies and preparation /review of academic work manuals and procedures and related documentation. The office is also responsible for corporate planning, staff recruitment, training of administrative staff, staff and students discipline, personnel administration and registry administration. The  office  chairs a number of strategic institute committees, such as Institute Academic Board. The office also works with the Principal’s office in development  of institutional and professional capacities aimed at enhancing the provision of quality and relevant technical education and training, including Staff Continuous Professional Development. Finally, the office is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the Institute Strategic Plan with regard to academic programmes towards achievement of the intended short and long-term goals.

 

Currently, the office is headed by Kavitah C. Kyuli, an alumnus of Egerton University, where he studied  for a Bachelor of Science in  Agriculture Education and Extension. The officer also holds a MSc in Human Resource Development from Moi University. Currently, the officer is writing a thesis for his PhD in Human Resource Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. The officer is a Certified Monitoring and Evaluation Professional and a Full Member of Kenya Institute of Management. He has research interests in Performance & Talent Management; Administrative, Technical & Organization Innovations and Cross Cultural Re-engineering.
